How your ESAT marks become a score
Pick a module and a mark out of 27, and follow both halves of our estimate.
4.6Mathematics 1, scale 1.0 to 9.0
Old-paper route: put your mark on a 20-question 2023 section
Read the published NSAA 2023 S1 Maths grading table
Item-model route: the ability that expects your mark on a 27-question test
Put that ability on the ESAT scale with UAT-UK's 2025-26 constants, kept within 1 to 9

How this works
How this works
Method
- Old-paper route: your mark out of 27 is placed on the matching 20-question 2023 NSAA or ENGAA section and read from Cambridge's published grading tables, by straight lines between rows.
- Item-model route: the ability that expects your mark on a 27-question test with evenly spread difficulties, put on the ESAT scale with the constant and multiplier UAT-UK published for 2025-26.
- The two are averaged, except for Mathematics 2, which has no close 2023 paper.
