ESAT repair sprints for the final week
Choose one weakness that has cost you marks recently. Rebuild the method, try a fresh question without help, and write down the first step that still fails.
When do you sit the ESAT?
Last-week priorities by module
Start where your own recent errors point. These are good first targets, not a forecast of next week's questions. The scope is the ESAT specification for October 2026 and January 2027.
Maths 1
- Repair first
- Cancelling before you multiply, units and scale factors, proportion, setting up equations, probability and reading graphs.
- A short sprint
- Take one unit or algebra slip you keep making. Explain it in a line, solve three fresh versions, then one mixed question that needs the same move.
- Keep in view
- A quick geometry and statistics check. Don't spend the week on one comfortable topic.
Maths 2
- Repair first
- Spotting the structure before expanding: sequences, coordinate conditions, log domains, exact trigonometry and what a derivative or integral means.
- A short sprint
- For four mixed questions, write only the first justified move. Solve two fully, then check signs, bounds and that you found what was asked.
- Keep in view
- Rotate all eight headings. Old question counts are not this year's weightings.
Physics
- Repair first
- Choosing the model, circuit reasoning, mechanics and energy graphs, and keeping units consistent.
- A short sprint
- Sketch the system, name the quantities and assumptions, then solve a version with one condition changed. Check units and direction.
- Keep in view
- Short recall across magnetism, thermal physics, matter, waves and radioactivity.
Chemistry
- Repair first
- Balanced equations, reacting ratios, limiting reactants, concentration units, bonding explanations and evidence from tests.
- A short sprint
- Balance first, convert every quantity to moles, compare with the equation's ratio, then solve a changed version. Explain one rate or energy graph.
- Keep in view
- Redox, acids, electrolysis, organic and group chemistry, and separation, wherever your errors show gaps.
Biology
- Repair first
- Mechanisms rather than labels: membranes and enzymes, inheritance, physiology, plant processes and unfamiliar data.
- A short sprint
- Explain a cause-and-effect chain from memory, change one condition, then read a new graph: axes, units and the groups being compared.
- Keep in view
- Cells, division, DNA and gene technologies, variation and ecosystems, in short recall checks.
